Marna

Marna is a certified Business English Coach with more than 30 years’ experience in the corporate world. She has a passion for developing people and specialises in coaching executives, managers, and entrepreneurs to transform their English for greater professional, academic, and personal success. She believes in a personalised approach to coaching and her sessions are focussed on the individual client’s communication needs, business interests, wellbeing, and personal growth.

Marna is an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa and holds a Doctor of Law degree. She has worked in various capacities as a state prosecutor, lecturer in the Faculty of Law at two of South Africa’s largest universities and as an internal auditor. She has also worked at a global financial services firm assisting clients in identifying business strengths, weaknesses and finding solutions to various business issues as well as coaching and training executives and engagement teams in the principles of risk and quality management.

She has consulted and advised clients in the public and private sector on contract management, occupational health and safety, legal compliance, tender management and the implementation of contract law principles. She also assisted Small and Medium Enterprises to develop Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems and served on various Board of Inquiries into industrial accidents and incidents.

She has graduated with a B.Proc degree, and obtained an LLB (cum laude). She later obtained a doctoral degree (LLD) with the topic for doctoral thesis: “Strategies for Inspection and Enforcement of Occupational Health and Safety Legislation.”
