David P

David's Background

David is a philosophy PhD holder, and he has completed two interdisciplinary philosophy postdoctoral fellowships in different contexts. He brings twenty years of teaching experience to the English coaching arena, as well as a diverse range of life-experience and skills. During his postdoctoral work, he achieved a dozen published articles in internationally accredited academic journals.

After gaining his initial teaching experience and an MA in Philosophy and English, David moved to England for four years, during which time he taught English (and other subjects) while gaining his formal teaching and lecturing qualifications. He returned to South Africa thereafter to pursue a university lecturing career, to earn his PhD, and to experiment with an off-grid homesteading lifestyle.

Having taught Professional Business English and Professional Business Development in the UK, and having an extensive knowledge of higher-order academic theories and concepts, David prides himself in enabling his clients to develop insight into and beyond their professional and private lives.

Outside of coaching, David enjoys surfing in one of the world's most famous surf towns, hiking, writing, and living as close to nature as possible on his one acre of bushy land in South Africa.
